Taj Mahal - The Symbol of Love & Beauty
If there is any monument associated with love, passion and glory, it is undoubtedly the "Taj Mahal". Taj Mahal is not only the pride of a nation with more than one billion people, but also it highlights the glory of Mogul art and architecture. Above all, it is regarded as the symbol of love.
Shah Jahan, the fifth Mogul emperor, built Taj Mahal in memory of his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Unlike other Mogul kings, Shah Jahan was known for his passion towards art and love. He was in deep love with his wife, who had significant influence on his life and policy making. However, there was a sad end to their love story, when Mumtaz Mahal died at the age of 39. The emperor went into deep mourning and never failed to recover from it.
Mumtaz's last wish to her husband was to build a unique tomb in her memory. The passionate emperor fulfilled her wish by building the Taj Mahal, a unique fairytale-like building of white marble. Shah Jahan used to remember his dearest wife by spending most of his time at Taj Mahal. He was later overthrown by his son was imprisoned. After his death, he was buried in the Taj. That was his last wish.
Today, Taj Mahal has become one of the most preferred global tourist destinations. Thousands of people across the globe throng to Taj Mahal everyday to get a glimpse of this symbol of love and beauty. Taj is news recently because of the event launched by Swiss non-profit organization New7Wonders. They require votes from people across the world to prepare the final list of the new seven wonders.
According to reports, more than 90 million people have already casted their votes. The New Seven Wonders list will be announced on 06 July based on the voting results. It is not sure whether Taj Mahal will be able to make it to the final list or not. However, it will always be remembered as a symbol of love and beauty.

Confusion of love
Those simple words confuse me. For I thought I knew what they meant. Until I lost and won some, My love today is for rent. I love you. Those simple words I know so well. I wish for you to know. That just liking someone is so different. So I will say it real slow. I L O V E Y O U Those are the words of a million feelings. My hopes and dreams and joys. Little girls writing love letters. Chasing after boys. I…L…O…V…E…Y…O…U Those are the words that I say to you. I whisper them to your heart. You turn and look back at me. I loved you from the start.

How Do I Love Thee?
***How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight For the ends of Being and ideal Grace. I love thee to the level of everyday's Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight. I love thee freely, as men strive for Right; I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise. I love thee with the passion put to use In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith. I love thee with a love I seemed to lose With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath, Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose, I shall but love thee better after death. ***

Software Technology in india
Several years on, the forces of globalization are starting to even things out between the U.S. and India, in sophisticated technology work. As more U.S. tech companies poured in, they soaked up the pool of high-end engineers qualified to work at global companies, belying the notion of an unlimited supply of top Indian engineering talent. In a 2005 study, McKinsey & Co. estimated that just a quarter of India's computer engineers had the language proficiency, cultural fit and practical skills to work at multinational companies. The result is increasing competition for the most skilled Indian computer engineers and a narrowing U.S.-India gap in their compensation. India's software-and-service association puts wage inflation in its industry at 10% to 15% a year. Some tech executives say it's closer to 50%. In the U.S., wage inflation in the software sector is under 3%, according to Moody's Economy.com. Rafiq Dossani, a scholar at Stanford University's Asia-Pacific Research Center who recently studied the Indian market, found that while most Indian technology workers' wages remain low -- an average $5,000 a year for a new engineer with little experience -- the experienced engineers Silicon Valley companies covet can now cost $60,000 to $100,000 a year. "For the top-level talent, there's an equalization," he says. That means that for a large swath of Silicon Valley -- start-ups and midsize companies that do sophisticated tech work -- India is no longer the premier outsourcing destination. While such companies make up just a fraction of India's outsourcing work, they had been an early catalyst for the growth of India's information-technology business and helped the country attract other outsourcing clients. Their rethinking of India raises red flags for the country. ***

SEX Education
When it comes to sex education, parents want their sons and daughters to know and be responsible about sex and their sexuality, but many parents are reluctant to sit down and discuss the subject openly and comfortably. Parents often prefer to delegate the subject to teachers, preachers, television, family physicians or to their children's peers.
A recent poll of parents on the subject of sex education for students showed some remarkable responses and attitudes. The poll is the first statewide survey by the Public Health Institute, and it was funded by the India Wellness Foundation.
Results indicated that almost 90% of indian parents, regardless of their politics, religion, location or level of education, want comprehensive sex education for their children.
According to the poll, 89% of parents support sex education that includes information about contraception and protection from sexually transmitted diseases, as well as abstinence. The poll showed that "widespread support for such a program (sex education) crossed all sorts of cultural fault lines.
Among evangelical Christians, 86% said they support comprehensive sex education. The subgroup with the lowest support, at 71%, were the 'very conservative.'" The poll results were astonishing to many people, including those in the health field.
The survey had its critics, who added that sex education should include abstinence and heterosexual sex within marriage.
Others denounced comprehensive sex education, saying it discourages abstinence.
The poll results are not surprising, since most parents are neither comfortable nor inclined to discuss sex with their children.
Sex is a sensitive topic that does not lend itself to the dinner table conversation. Educators find themselves in the difficult and unenviable position of being asked to do what most parents refuse to — to teach children about safe, wholesome, healthy sex.
It is important to note that India has rejected federal funding for abstinence-only sex education for the past decade, according to the report. India schools are required to offer a state-funded comprehensive sex education curriculum.
Many school districts, however, are not providing comprehensive sex education as required by state law, the report noted.
School districts either do not have local community support, staff expertise, or comfort level to provide a comprehensive sex education program.
What is remarkable about this survey is the conclusion that the findings can help ensure that the voices of the majority of parents concerned about the safety of their children are heard.

A very romentic story "TITANIC"
NEW YORK (AP) - In eight handwritten pages, a 95-year-old passenger recounted the Titanic's last hours, starting with the moment the ill-fated oceanliner hit an iceberg.
From a lifeboat, Laura Marie Cribb watched the luxurious vessel's lights go out and listened to the "most terrible shrieks and groans from the helpless and doomed passengers who were left on the wreck of the great ship."
Her account, written soon after the disaster, fetched $16,800 at a Christie's auction of Titanic memorabilia. The 18 lots - including letters, postcards, telegrams from survivors and photographs of passengers - sold Thursday for a total of $193,140.
The Titanic, the world's largest passenger steamship at the time, was on its maiden voyage when it struck an iceberg on April 14, 1912, and sank early on the following day. At least 1,496 people were killed.
Cribb, a third-class passenger from Newark, N.J., was rescued by the RMS Carpathia, but her father perished.
The deck log from cable ship SS MacKay-Bennett, the second ship on the scene after the Carpathia, was up for auction at a pre-sale estimate of $30,000 to $50,000. The log sold for $102,000.
"It's a journal that documents how many bodies were picked up and where in the Titanic debris field in the Atlantic Ocean," said Gregg Dietrich, Christie's maritime and oceanliner specialist.
The MacKay-Bennett was the first of four vessels that searched for bodies after the Titanic disaster. An embalmer from the Canadian province of Nova Scotia was stationed aboard the MacKay-Bennett to oversee the operation.
After seven days, 306 bodies were recovered.
Thursday's auction also included the ship's first-class passenger list, which bears such prominent New York names as Astor, Guggenheim and Straus. The list sold for $48,000, topping a pre-sale estimate of $15,000 to $20,000.
All prices include a 20-percent buyer's premium.
Artifacts from another famous shipwrecked luxury liner, the Andrea Doria, were also auctioned. The Italian vessel was heading across the Atlantic toward New York in 1956 when it collided with a Swedish passenger ship, the SS Stockholm, and sank, killing 46 people. The wreck lies on the bottom of the ocean floor south of Nantucket, Mass.
Christie's also sold items such as silverware and posters from the Normandie, the French Art Deco ocean liner that burned and capsized in New York Harbor during World War II.

Information about mummies
At the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, Dr. Zahi Hawass, Undersecretary of the State for the Giza Monuments and adjunct professor at UCLA, discussed the discovery of up to 10,000 Roman mummies buried in the Bahariyya Oasis of Egypt 2000 years ago. The mummies, undisturbed by grave robbers, are unusually well-preserved, many covered with a layer of gold. Attesting to the influence of Rome, many hold the coin used to pay the ferryman to take the dead to the Underworld. On one coin is the head of Cleopatra. Three years ago an antiquities guard quite literally accidentally stumbled upon the site. The donkey he was riding fell into a hole which turned out to be in the ceiling of a buried tomb. In March of 1999, Dr. Hawass led a team of archaeologists, architects, restorators, conservators, and engineers on the largest Egyptian expedition ever. In the first four tombs, each of which consisted of an entrance, delivery room and two burial chambers, they found 105 mummies wrapped in a variety of materials, from linen (for ordinary workers) to gold (for the wealthy and powerful), with many artifacts including pottery depicting the dwarf god of pleasure, Bes, jewelry, and statues. From about 330 B.C. to A.D. 400 a milder climate and underground aquifers permitted large scale production of dates and grain in the Bahariyya Oasis, more than 200 miles from the Giza Plateau. The grain was in demand for a popular wine and the grain was exported to Rome. Near the graveyard is a palace and near that are the walls of a winery presumed responsible for the wealth of the area. Previously a temple of Alexander the Great had been found in the area. That together with at least one of the tombs will be opened to the public in November. With respect for the dead, most of the bodies will not be put on display.
